Drop Down Day

On Wednesday, our Year 7 pupils took part in a special Drop Down Day held in the School Hall. The day was designed to support pupils’ personal development by exploring diversity, equality and the importance of respect for everyone within an inclusive community. Throughout the sessions, pupils participated in interactive activities, discussions and challenges that encouraged them to think critically about stereotypes, identity, belonging and how we can build on our strengths in creating a school where everyone feels safe, valued and able to be themselves.

The level of engagement and maturity shown by the pupils was particularly impressive. Many shared their ideas confidently, listened respectfully to the views of others and demonstrated an increasing understanding of the importance of empathy, kindness and inclusion. The day forms part of Ysgol Aberconwy’s ongoing commitment to promoting equality, respect and wellbeing, ensuring that every individual feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to thrive.

We would like to thank all of our Year 7 pupils for their positive attitudes and excellent contributions throughout the day, as well as the staff who planned and delivered the sessions. It was a highly successful day, and we look forward to building on these important messages throughout the academic year.
