Hiraethlyn Report by Thomas Powell 12HC
On Friday the 5th February, 2010, Ysgol Aberconwy held a charity day to raise money for the disastrous earthquake in Haiti. Organised by Hiraethlyn House council, the whole school took part in a non-uniform day and donated £1 each to participate.
Some of the sixth-form pupils chose fancy dress as they already have the privilege of wearing their own clothes to school. Teachers also joined in, some opting to wear funny hats. There were many activities on the day, including a penalty shoot out in the sports hall at lunchtime, teachers vs. pupils; cake sales; name the teddy; a general knowledge quiz and a DVD showing in the hall.
The total raised was a magnificent £1,350!
