This year, Ramadan has fallen between February the 28<sup>th<\/sup> and March the 29<sup>th<\/sup>, though the dates change every year in accordance with the lunar calendar. The day after Ramadan is Eid al-Fitr: a holiday which marks the end of the fast with community celebration. Students have had a chance to try some traditional foods for themselves, with the school cafeteria offering some new treats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone has engaged with a range of colourful and creative activities across the school. Whether students have helped to bring our hallways alive with beautiful decorations, created a work of Eid-centric art, dabbled with calligraphy, or enjoyed listening to some traditional music, we have all come together to absorb what this holiday means and to take inspiration from it. Some students have even dived in headfirst \u2013 or perhaps handfirst! \u2013 and decorated themselves with temporary mehndi tattoos for the occasion. Humanities and English classes across Ysgol Aberconwy took this opportunity to learn more about the origins of Eid, why it is celebrated, and what it means to people today.
