The Year 7 football team is progressing to the last four of the Welsh Cup, having beaten St Davids, Saltney, four to three.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-ub-image size-large\" id=\"ub-image-\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aberconwy.conwy.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/2cc9cc21-0335-4fb7-9ff9-40dd527a6381.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1\" style=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>On Thursday 26th\u00a0February, the team produced an incredible performance on Airbus FC\u2019s 1st\u00a0team pitch. Captain\u00a0Gwilym\u00a0covered every blade of grass whilst the solid defensive work of\u00a0Theo,\u00a0William and\u00a0Lewis allowed\u00a0Oliver to terrorise the opposition with his mazy runs!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bobbi-Jac, Rhys and\u00a0Isaac worked tirelessly throughout with Isaac earning the crucial 4th goal. The work-rate of our forwards were rewarded with a fine goal from\u00a0Rio\u00a0and two sublime finishes from\u00a0Fraser.\u00a0Ciaran&#8217;s calmness and composure in goal were crucial during the closing stages as the opposition pushed for an equalizer right up to the final whistle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best moment of the match was Fraser\u2019s excellent free kick, which settled the nerves and helped us build our commanding lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"800\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 800 \/ 800;\" width=\"800\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.aberconwy.conwy.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Free-Kick-Cropped-Video.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Rhydian Jones would also like to thank the contributions of\u00a0Ruben, Harry, Cody and\u00a0Max who continue to push this squad to perform at such high levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ve all been fantastic.
