Year 7 students took part in a truly memorable experience during their visit to the Glan-llyn Outdoor Education Centre in October. As part of our transition programme, this trip plays an essential role in helping our new cohort build strong relationships, grow in confidence and become familiar with the culture and expectations of the school. Once again, this year, we were delighted to see students stepping outside their comfort zones and fully embracing every challenge presented to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout, students participated in a wide range of activities. The team-building sessions offered opportunities for students to practise effective communication, develop creative thinking and collaborate in new and meaningful ways. Staff were impressed by how naturally students developed trust within their groups and how well they supported one another to complete challenging tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water-based activities were a particular highlight for many students. For some, it was their first-time trying canoeing or raft-building, and the sense of pride they felt at the end of the session was evident. Experiences like these not only help students develop physical and cognitive skills but also promote resilience, determination and a strong sense of personal achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the practical skills gained, it also encouraged significant social development. Students were given the chance to form new friendships, interact with peers they may not have previously known well, and create memories that will last throughout their time at the school. The sense of community, positivity and mutual support shown across the trip reflects the core values we aim to nurture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff who accompanied the trip and dedicated their time and energy to ensuring the day was safe, enjoyable and enriching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
