You now have the opportunity to meet with your child\u2019s teachers either online through \u2018School Cloud\u2019 or \u2018Face to Face\u2019 in school. Whatever your preference, we are asking parents to book up to 8 appointments online in advance, using the details below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Online appointments last for 4 minutes and are available between 3.45pm and 4.35pm, and face-to-face meetings in person last for 5 minutes and are available between 4.50pm and 6.00pm in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The booking system allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments. All you need to do is follow the instructions in the Parents Guide for Booking Appointments tab below, a week ahead of your child’s parents evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fill out the details on the page then click the Log In <\/em>button. A confirmation of your appointments will be sent to the email address you provide.<\/td><\/tr>
\"\"<\/td>Step 2: Select Parents’ Evening<\/strong>

Click on the date you wish to book. Unable to make all of the dates listed? Click I’m unable to attend<\/em>.<\/td><\/tr>
\"\"<\/td>Step 3: Select Booking Mode<\/strong> <\/span>

Choose Automatic<\/em> if you’d like the system to suggest the shortest possible appointment schedule based on the times you’re available to attend. To pick the times to book with each teacher, choose Manual<\/em>. Then press Next<\/em>. We recommend choosing the automatic booking mode when browsing on a mobile device.<\/td><\/tr>
\"\"<\/td>Step 4: Choose Teachers<\/strong> <\/span>

If you chose the automatic booking mode, drag the sliders at the top of the screen to indicate the earliest and latest you can attend. Select the teachers you\u2019d like to book appointments with. A green tick indicates they\u2019re selected. To de-select, click on their name.<\/td><\/tr>
\"\"<\/td>Step 5a (Automatic): Book Appointments<\/strong>

If you chose the automatic booking mode, you’ll see provisional appointments which are held for 2 minutes. To keep them, choose Accept at the bottom left. If it wasn\u2019t possible to book every selected teacher during the times you are able to attend, you can either adjust the teachers you wish to meet with and try again, or switch to manual booking mode (Step 5b).<\/td><\/tr>
\"\"<\/td>Step 5b (Manual): Book Appointments<\/strong>

Click any of the green cells to make an appointment. Blue cells signify where you already have an appointment. Grey cells are unavailable. To change an appointment, delete the original by hovering over the blue box and clicking Delete<\/em>. Then choose an alternate time. You can optionally leave a message for the teacher to say what you\u2019d like to discuss, or raise anything beforehand. Once you\u2019re finished booking all appointments, at the top of the page in the alert box, press click here<\/em> to finish the booking process.<\/td><\/tr>
\"\"<\/td>Step 6: Finished<\/strong>

All your bookings now appear on the My Bookings page. An email confirmation has been sent and you can also print appointments by pressing Print<\/em>. Click Subscribe to Calendar<\/em> to add these and any future bookings to your calendar. To change your appointments, click on Amend Bookings<\/em>.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<\/div>

Protocol for Virtual Parents Evenings<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00a0 virtual parents evening are new to us we thought it important to establish some ground rules so that all participants\u00a0are following the same protocol which should ensure everyone\u2019s wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Conversations should take place in appropriate rooms eg\u00a0 kitchen, lounge, study\u00a0 and not in a bedroom\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • All participants should be appropriately attired as they would be for a real life face to face meeting<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • No conversations should be recorded<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • If you are using a device with eg FaceTime or WhatsApp to enable both parents from different households to attend simultaneously please flag this up to the teacher as a matter of courtesy at the start of the conversation<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Both teachers and parents have the choice of using audio or video<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • As in real life, your son\/daughter is welcome to attend<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Please try to be on time as the slot times are not flexible at all and will start\/finish exactly on time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • The first 30 seconds of each conversation allows for a short break for the teacher who will initiate the conversation at some point when they are ready during this time\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Ysgol Aberconwy is often commended for the very positive, constructive relationships between staff and parents and it is important that this continues. Therefore please note that in the extremely unlikely event of verbal abuse, staff will end the conversation and refer the matter to the Senior Leadership Team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>
