Throughout the year, our Learning Ambassadors, who are now proudly rebranding themselves as Y Criw Dysgu in support of promoting the Welsh language within the school, have worked closely with staff to provide thoughtful, constructive feedback on different aspects of teaching and learning across the school. Their core aim has been to help improve the learning experience for all students – and they’ve done so with maturity, insight, and a real commitment to positive change.
Their work has been focused and purposeful, closely linked to priorities in the school development plan. They have contributed valuable student feedback on areas such as effective learning environments, lesson starters, and retrieval practice to name but a few. While their projects haven’t been in the spotlight, their impact has been significant in helping departments reflect and refine their teaching practice.
The establishment of Y Criw Dysgu has contributed to a powerful student voice within the school. Rather than being passive recipients of education, these young leaders are empowered to take an active role in shaping their learning experiences. The decision to rebrand as Y Criw Dysgu marks a pivotal moment in their journey. It not only enhances their identity but also reinforces their alignment with the school’s broader goal of promoting the Welsh language.
As Y Criw Dysgu continues to grow and evolve, we eagerly anticipate their future projects and initiatives. Their contributions thus far have laid a solid foundation for ongoing dialogue about teaching and learning, and we are excited to see how their influence will further enhance our educational community.
