SEREN National Maths Competition Final

Congratulations to Ben, Henry, Connor and Kiyan, who recently represented Ysgol Aberconwy in the SEREN National Maths Competition Final at the University of South Wales.

Travelling by train alongside students from other North Wales schools, the team enjoyed an evening exploring Cardiff Bay, taking a ride on the Big Wheel and spending time together bowling before the competition the following day.

The national final brought together 14 of the highest-performing teams from across Wales, following a competition that originally involved 178 teams from 38 schools. Throughout the event, our students demonstrated excellent mathematical thinking, teamwork and resilience, representing Ysgol Aberconwy with pride.

A particular highlight of the trip was hearing from renowned mathematician and author Simon Singh, whose inspiring talk gave students a fascinating insight into the world of mathematics.

We are incredibly proud of Ben, Henry, Connor and Kiyan, not only for reaching the national final but also for the way they conducted themselves throughout the trip. They were outstanding ambassadors for Ysgol Aberconwy, and we hope they enjoyed this fantastic opportunity.
