Happy International Women’s Day! Our student ambassadors wanted to celebrate the occasion this week, and have helped to deliver fantastic assemblies on the subject to different year groups. We’re always pleased to see students taking initiative and sharing their knowledge with other students.

As part of our assemblies this week, we’ve been able to enjoy some singing for solidarity! This fun way to present a point has helped engage everyone in the meaning behind International Women’s Day, and given students a chance to use their creativity for good. Thanks to Milla, Lucy, Chloe, Eve, Phoebe, Izzy, Jess, Cecelia, Lexi, Sam, Arwen, and everyone else who took part.

Last week saw students setting up for the event by creating an art installation featuring women that inspire them. The names include writers, performers, athletes, scientists, activists, and more, as well as more immediate inspirations like family and friends.

Friday was an ‘own clothes’ day, with funds raised going to the North Wales Women’s Centre. A worthy charity providing various types of support to women in need!
