A huge well done to all our sixth form students today!
Our A-Level results have been outstanding, with many students going on to top universities, higher-level apprenticeships, and fantastic bourgeoning career opportunities. We’re very happy with the commitment they have all shown to their studies, and the well-earned success they have achieved.

Some highlights of the day were Holly Wilson, who earned A*, A*, A* and A and will be taking up a place at University in Cardiff to study Politics. Harry Senior [A*, A, A, B] earned excellent A-Level results. Nell Shannon [A, A, A] is about to begin a degree level apprenticeship with EON at the University of Nottingham. Sonny Mitchell [Dist*, Dist*, A, B] will be going on to study Finance at Newcastle.

Other fantastic results come from Emily Wraith, who is going on to study Occupational Therapy at Salford University, Shana Kelly, who’ll be studying Sports Science at Keele University, Isla Shackleton who is taking on International Tourism at Chester, and Elin Jones who’ll be moving on to learn Psychology at Bangor.

There are plenty of exciting destinations waiting for our graduating sixth formers. Isaac Kitchen and Stanley Bird are going to be flying high, as both are joining the RAF! Rowenna Halsey is going further afield to study Law in Amsterdam. Ashleigh-Ann Bellis will be making us proud in Aberystwyth, where she’ll be studying Equine Science. And Oscar Parham is going to take on the challenge of ‘Forestry management’ at Glynllifon College.

It was lovely to see students celebrating their successes with the teachers and staff who helped them get there. Our Headteacher, Mr Gerrard, gave hearty congratulations, saying: “We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements this year. These results reflect the commitment they’ve shown over the past two years, and they also speak volumes about the dedication of our staff. The culture of high expectations and support we foster at Ysgol Aberconwy continues to produce excellent outcomes, and this year is no exception.”

Miss Hughes, the Head of Sixth Form, said: “One of our greatest strengths is our ability to guide students towards futures that are right for them. We’re incredibly proud of the diversity of pathways our students are taking—from Russell Group universities to local apprenticeships—and we look forward to seeing all they go on to achieve.”

Year 12 also came to collect their results – only one year left before we’re saying goodbye to them! We know they’re going to sail into a wonderful future as well.

Congratulations again to everyone. You’ve done wonderfully to reach this exciting next step forward in your lives, and whatever you have planned next, we know you’re going to do well. Enjoy your summer, and very well done. We’re going to miss you all!
