Careers Fayre

Before half term, Ysgol Aberconwy proudly hosted a highly successful Careers Fayre for all Year 10 students, welcoming over 30 local businesses and organisations into the school.

The event provided learners with a valuable opportunity to explore future pathways, speak directly with employers, and gain insight into the wide range of careers available within the local and regional economy. Representatives from sectors including healthcare, engineering, construction, digital industries, hospitality, public services and further education engaged students in meaningful conversations about qualifications, skills and routes into employment.

The Careers Fayre forms a key part of the school’s commitment to preparing learners for life beyond the classroom. By connecting students with real employers, the event helped raise aspirations, strengthen understanding of the world of work, and support informed option choices as students move towards Key Stage 4 examinations and post-16 decisions.

Staff were delighted with the maturity and enthusiasm shown by Year 10 learners, many of whom asked thoughtful questions about apprenticeships, vocational routes and university pathways.

The school extends its sincere thanks to Careers Wales for their continued support, and to all the local businesses and organisations who generously gave their time to attend and inspire the next generation.

Ysgol Aberconwy looks forward to building on these partnerships in the future to ensure every learner is equipped with the knowledge, skills and ambition to succeed.
