Sprinting to Double Gold

Huge congratulations to the talented Sienna in Year 7, who recently competed in the North Wales Indoor Regional Championships at Deeside and the Welsh National Indoor athletics Championships in Cardiff, with fantastic results.

She placed 1st in U13 Girls 60m Sprint, Long Jump and High Jump, making it a hat-trick at the top of the podium for Sienna at the Regional competition on 10th January before going onto the National competition in Cardiff on 17th and 18th January, where she achieved a personal best of 8.41 in the Girls U13 60m sprint taking gold. She then want on to achieve another personal best of 28.52 and first place in the 200m race for the Girls U13.

These fabulous achievements mean that Sienna is now the Welsh Women’s U13 indoor 60m and 200m 2026 Champion! Her outstanding performance in the 60m Sprint has also placed Sienna as the current number one ranked Women’s U13 Indoor Sprinter over 60m across the whole of the UK! What an amazing result!

We’re very lucky to have such a formidable athlete at Ysgol Aberconwy and we are extremely excited to see how her talents develop as she continues her athletic journey. Llongyfarchiadau Sienna!
