German Christmas Markets Fun

On Saturday, 29th November, the International Languages Department organised an exciting trip to the German Christmas Markets in Birmingham. The trip saw 50 current and former language students from Years 10 to 12 come together to experience the festive atmosphere and immerse themselves in German culture.

Students had the opportunity to explore the market stalls, enjoy traditional German food and drinks, and take in the sights and sounds of a quintessential German Christmas. The visit offered a unique chance to practice language skills in a real-world context while enjoying the festive spirit.

The trip was not only a fun outing but also an enriching cultural experience, reinforcing the department’s commitment to broadening students’ understanding of international languages and cultures.

The International Languages Department looks forward to organizing more cultural trips in the future, providing students with hands-on experiences that complement their classroom learning.

A special thanks goes to the staff who gave up their time voluntarily, without whom these trips could not run.
