Another Round of Excellent Results

Wrapping up the academic year, we’ve had results days for A-Levels / AS-Levels and GCSEs. Ysgol Aberconwy students are once again leading the pack with excellent results, which they’ve earned through commitment and passion for their subjects. As a school, we couldn’t be prouder!

A-Level results day last week brought with it many outstanding achievements, including the news that Angharad Brookes had been offered a place in Newnham College at Cambridge University. She will be studying Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion having earned an inspiring A*, A*, B.

Other exceptional results included Artur Kumpanenko, who earned A*, A*, A and will be studying Mechanical Engineering at Liverpool University, Bryn Mills with A*, A, A, B going on to study Architecture at Manchester University, Eimear Teasdale with A, A, B going on to study Psychology at Plymouth University, and Arda Kaynak with A*, B, B, going to Lancaster University for Accounting and Finance. Some more high achievers include Pryce Smith, Torin Long, Francesca Bing, Tegan Bailey, and Emma Feehily, all ready to go off to university, and Lily Jobson who is leaving us for a hard-earned and exclusive apprenticeship with Airbus. Fantastic news, and we wish them all the best!

Mr Gerrard was among the pleased faces at results day, and commented: “We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements this year. These results reflect the commitment they’ve shown over the past two years, and they also speak volumes about the dedication of our staff. The culture of high expectations and support we foster at Ysgol Aberconwy continues to produce excellent outcomes, and this year is no exception.”

Miss Hughes added: “We’re incredibly proud of the diversity of pathways our students are taking – from Russell Group universities to local apprenticeships – and we look forward to seeing all they go on to achieve.” All our A-Level leavers have completed a difficult stage of their lives – one that requires a great deal of dedication – and come out on top. Although we’re delighted to see so many top marks, we celebrate every success and are deeply proud of all our students. Although we are sad to see you go, we will be waiting to see what you achieve next – it’s going to be great, no matter where you’re headed!

GCSE results day this week has been another roaring success, with a large crowd of excited students coming to collect their transcripts.

Our GCSE results have been high, with many personal bests. We would like to particularly celebrate Eryn Hadley’s incredible 12 A*/A results, as well as the 11 A*/As that Aimee Kite and Lucy Thorn each achieved, and the 10 A*/As that Natalie Jones and Finlay Nolan achieved. Other excellent results were earned by Amalie Jones, Amelia Hodgson, Olivia Rigby, Annie Clarke, Julia Daniec, Olivia Jones, Amelia Roberts, Chloe Edwards, Santiago Keller, Lucas Thomas, and Sonny Van der Byl. Thank you all for your hard work, and we hope you know how impressed we are with everything you’ve accomplished.

Mr Gerrard commented: “Today’s results reflect academic success, resilience and determination,” and “we are immensely proud”.

Mrs Murphy happily shared in students’ successes on the day, and stated: “These outcomes are a testament to consistent hard work and high-quality teaching. We’re especially pleased that so many students are choosing to continue with us in Sixth Form”. We will be very happy to have a high percentage of you back with us again after summer, and will be wishing the best for those leaving us to develop their future careers in other ways. Good luck all! We appreciate every one of you for being part of our school community.
