Praise from Visiting Senedd Members

Ysgol Aberconwy has been fortunate enough to have received praise for its high teaching and learning standards from local members of the Senedd.

The school was recently visited by Darren Millar, Member of the Senedd for Clwyd West, who was accompanied by Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Senedd for Aberconwy. Darren Millar had to say of his visit – “The school is a real asset to the local community. It is a shining example of what can be achieved when high expectations are paired with commitment and hard work. Other schools across Wales could learn a lot from the good practice at Ysgol Aberconwy.” He added that we should “keep up the great work!” We’ll certainly do that!

Especial thanks were extended to our superb Headteacher, Ian Gerrard, who hosted the visit.

Of particular interest during the visit were Ysgol Aberconwy’s great use of modern technology, the range of fantastic extra-curriculars including artistic and sporting activities, how the new curriculum is being implemented, and our dedication to individual pupil needs. Both our guests from the Senedd saw for themselves how we prioritise getting every student to achieve their full potential. We were happy to showcase the ways we’ve been shaping the future of Conwy County for the better.
