On May 20th, the Ysgol Aberconwy Under 13 Girls Cricket Team embarked on an exciting journey at the Eryri Chance to Compete Cricket tournament, held at Bangor Cricket Club. The sun shone brightly over the field, setting an ideal backdrop for a day filled with sportsmanship and competition.
The tournament featured strong teams from across the region, but the Ysgol Aberconwy girls demonstrated incredible skill and determination, winning all five of their matches! The teams they faced included Ysgol John Bright’s A and B teams, Ysgol Friars, Ysgol Bro Idris, and Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen. Each match brought its unique challenges, but the girls’ skills, courage and positivity shone through, making every game exciting for both players and supporters.
From the very first ball, it was clear that the team was well-prepared and eager to showcase their talent. The players exhibited excellent teamwork, communication, and a genuine love for the game, which were crucial in overcoming their opponents. The Ysgol Aberconwy Under 13 Girls Cricket Team is set to compete again on June 13th in Colwyn Bay. This time, they will face schools from Northeast Wales, providing another opportunity for the girls to put their skills to the test. With their recent success, excitement is building and all eyes will be on them as they strive for further victories.
