German Teacher Award

Congratulations to our Head of International Languages, Jamie McAllister on being selected for a “Special Mention” award at the UK German Teacher Awards 2023. Jamie was presented with her award at a ceremony in the Goethe Institut, London on Friday 7th July.

It was the 20th year of the award and Jamie was was the only teacher at the ceremony from Wales. She was presented with a certificate, a book and half price subscription for the Association for Language Learning by the German ambassador to the UK,  Miguel Berger, and Nick Gibb, the education minister for the UK. She also got to meet Axel Scheffler who designed the logo for the award, she said, “He’s such a well known illustrator, having illustrated Julia Donaldson’s children’s books like the Gruffalo and Stick Man that I was a bit star struck actually!”
