Eco Council Students receive their John Muir Awards

We would like to congratulate Rowan and Korben in year 13, Aaron and Sam in year 12, Kieran in year 11, Amelia in year 10 and Nell and Erin in year 9 who are members of the Senior School Eco Council that were recently presented with their John Muir Awards following a 2 day stay at Bod Silin cottage, where they all worked together to complete the four challenges that lie at the heart of the award: Discover, Explore, Conserve and Share.

The awards were presented by the John Muir Award Wales Manager, Mr Bedwyr Ap Gwyn during a small ceremony at the school. Following the presentation, Mr Colin O’Rourke, Director of Outdoor Learning at Ysgol Aberconwy said, “This is a fantastic achievement, I am so proud of the work and commitment of these Eco Council members and I am looking forward to taking the Junior Eco Council to Bod Silin after Christmas, so that they can also work towards completing their John Muir Awards too.”
