| The House System |
|
Every pupil at Ysgol Aberconwy belongs to a House. Each of the Houses is named after a tributary of the River Conwy. Houses are represented by the colour on the pupils’ polo shirt. Each House aims to develop:
The Head of each House will monitor closely the academic progress of students within their House. The House Progress Mentor will meet with pupils each half term to reflect on their progress. The House system allows each student to receive a half-termly interim report and an annual written report. In addition, the Houses are a vehicle for developing activities and competition. For example, Inter-House quizzes and sport days encourage competition. Houses also arrange Charity Days to raise money for good causes. Pupils can gain points for their Houses through these events, via day to day activities and through doing well in lessons. Each year one House will gain the most points and be awarded with the House Cup. All pupils meet together weekly for an assembly and students will be encouraged to play a role in developing their House. House Cup Winners
