There are many opportunities for students to become involved in extra-curricular activities in Ysgol Aberconwy; not only those which support and augment National Curriculum provision but also those which go beyond formal areas of study and help to develop a student's independent living skills. Furthermore, the school is actively involved in the wider community and takes part in the many festivals to which Conwy plays host and participates in its civic ceremonies.

Via the House System, there are plenty of ways in which students can take part in charity fund-raising activities and there are regular Charity Days throughout the year.

Below is the current timetable of activities for an average week at Ysgol Aberconwy:

In addition, there are many periodical activities and larger projects that take place in the school, some examples include:

  • Top quality drama productions which tackle challenging works from internationally renowed playwrights
  • The School Nutrition Action Group (S.N.A.G.) which affords students the opportunity to acquire vital independent living skills. The SNAG contributes annually to the Conwy Feast and holds popular regular tasting sessions within the school to promote healthy eating
  • The Clwb yr Urdd holds monthly activities for our Year 7 pupils and allows them the chance to practice their Welsh in less formal surroundings and while they are having fun.
